A Flash-related conversation that apparently happened at Wizard World Chicago, courtesy of Engblom:Didio followed up, "Which Flash would you talk about?" Van Sciver shot back, "Why not all of them?"Didio pretended to be incredulous: "In the same book?" Van Sciver drove it home with, "Why not?"
This certainly doesn't mean anything necessarily, but it got me thinking about how cool it would be to see a Flash book that focused not just on a singular hero, but the entire legacy - a sort of "Team Flash" monthly, with all of the speedsters starring - sometimes working alone, and sometimes teaming up together to work on cases or take on larger threats. Jay Garrick is the patriarch, Barry Allen is the experienced legend, Wally West is the everyman (or family man, depending on how much exposure you want to give Iris and the super-twins). Hell, you could even find a way to bring back Bart at his "real" age and include him as Kid Flash (which would mean that Bart could also show up in Teen Titans, thus rectifying the overall dismantling of Johns' Titans, one of my least favorite results of Infinite Crisis).
Something like this, I could definitely get behind. The Flash is definitely one of my favorite heroes of the DCU - a good look, a unique spin (the legacy and the speed), and each individual Flash brings something different to the table.
It may never happen, or maybe it'll be the first big book to launch after Final Crisis, but either way it's kind of a cool thought and I'm imagining how I would write it.
What about you guys? Yes, no? If you were writing a "Team Flash"-style book, how would you handle it?
